One person was killed after a small aircraft crashed near Chandler Airport in Arizona, according to the Chandler Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews responded after receiving a 911 call reporting a downed aircraft. Responders worked with the Chandler Airport control tower to confirm the location of the crash.
ABC News' Phoenix affiliate KNXV reported that the crash happened near McQueen and Queen Creek roads around 7:50 p.m. local time Tuesday.
Crews located a single aircraft with one person on board who had died in the crash, the fire department said. The pilot has not yet been identified.

The Chandler Fire Department said it is coordinating with Chandler Airport officials, the Chandler Police Department and the Federal Aviation Administration as the investigation continues.
Authorities are still working to confirm additional details and the investigation into the crash remains open.
