Watch: Moment meteor soars across Suffolk sky

A meteor has been seen soaring across the night's sky in Suffolk.

The footage was captured on a home security camera owned by Denise Hubert in Kesgrave, near Ipswich, at about 00:23 BST on Monday.

At first she did not "know what to make" of the video the next morning, but she soon realised "it must be something of interest".

The meteor was also spotted in other parts of the UK including in East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Cumbria.

John Maclean, from the UK Meteor Network, said the meteor was not connected to any astronomical event, and likely splintered off from a larger asteroid.
